DISCONNECT

Just for a day if you could, I suggest
Try being the person that you are, nonetheless.
Mute connections with the outside world
And zoom inside into your internal affairs.

Cancel the  items listed in your e- cart
Added to prove something to others.
Drop that smile that strains your face
That confirms your following of old ways.

Stop trying to look the prettiest
And feel lucky if anyone noticed.
Display your wrinkles on every occasion
Laugh lines are called so for a reason.

I would say stop painting yourself in colors
Red for lips and lather on cheeks,
If making yourself colorful pleased those around you
Uncoat for a day and see what it does to you.

That you are worth a hundred in gold
Won't be a thought for others to behold,
You don't prove that you can walk or do you
Then why do you prove what others couldn't do.

Pause for a while and feel what fills you,
Do you know how far your heart is from reaching you,
How much does it take when it pleases others,
Is there a way you can measure that pressure.

Disconnect, disengage and dissociate,
From anything that takes you away from yourself,
Unload the heavy burden of commonness and lies,
Laud yourself and learn to live by your choice.
