Dear Husband

I don't know what  it is between us,
That holds our thoughts in unison,
Should I call it being in love
Like the rest of the world does,
Or is it something else,
Without a proper definition.
For the rest of the world to fall in love,
Which marks the beginning of a feeling,
But I don't remember my being
In this world sans your being,
I don't reckon my existence prior to yours.
It had to always be you.
Not you and me. But Us.
It had always been us.
Ever since I could legibly think.
You didn't arrive.
We were born in each other's thoughts.
Neither did we ever leave that paradise.
The word doesn't exist between us.
We stayed. You stayed. I stayed.
In all those days when I was not myself.
You stayed.
And we were so right for each other.
So right that we couldn't be anything but Us.
