You lost her

You lost her,
The one who used to get so carried away in your words,
That she would forget that she had things to do,
The one who would add up all her energies,
And put it to use to help you with your worries,
The one who would drive far to meet you,
And didn't mind when you had no smile for her when she met you,
The one who always called, texted, and sent you her thoughts,
And didn't mind the emptiness that came her way in parts,
The one that made all the plans, dreamt of a life with you,
Assumed you to be hers without you ever telling her so,
The one who always hoped that there was some reason behind your harshness,
And tried to see if any amount of love could make you grounded,
The one who didn't mind the troubles that came her way,
Because she was too distracted and busy in writing your essay,
Until that one day, when she got really tired,
Tired of waiting, tired of the driving, tired of dreaming,
Tired of reminding you of her presence again and again,
Tired of not receiving a smile or a sign of cheer on your face when she was near,
Tired of believing that you would give her back all the love that she needed,
Tired of wanting and keeping her faith in your lies,
So tired that she didn't have any energy left, neither for you nor for herself,
There was nothing more she could do, or say,
It was as if she had reached the dead end of a road,
So she turned for the first time in her life,
And walked in opposite to what she believed to be the love of her life,
Maybe it was, maybe it wasn't,
But at that very moment, you lost her somewhere- forever.
