I was there when we made an empty space into our little home,
Only to later see our home turning into a vacant house looking for its new occupant.
I was there when we brought home all the pretty stuff and called it ours,
Only to later split it up into what was yours and what was mine.
I was there when we could never get enough of each other's attention,
And then saw us fight for not getting the much needed 'Me' time.
I was there when you bravely fought with the world for me,
And later when you fought with me to get back to your big world.
I was there when I topped the list of the ones you called frequently,
Only to sink later into a ten digit number your phone stored in its memory.
I was there when you missed nothing to make me happy,
To later when you had nothing at all to ask from me.
I was there even after you left and wished me goodbye,
To later when you never turned, looked back and became the answer to my many why's.
